Tuition rates are determined based on the residency status of the student. Pennsylvania tuition rates include a discount that is made possible, in part, by funds appropriated by the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Under Pennsylvania state law, a student is classified as either a resident or nonresident of Pennsylvania. The term “Pennsylvania resident” for tuition purposes may differ from other definitions of Pennsylvania residency.
In general, a student who has resided in Pennsylvania for at least twelve (12) continuous months immediately prior to enrollment at Temple University or any other institution of higher education in Pennsylvania is presumed to be a resident for tuition purposes.
The Office of the University Registrar is responsible for the residency process at Temple University.
See the Office of the University Registrar for detailed residency information or to appeal a residency classification.
