The tuition remission program includes expenses for tuition only; fees are not covered as part of tuition remission.
The tuition remission program extends to all regular full-time employees, faculty members, and their legally dependent children for courses taken at Temple university.
Spouses and certified domestic partners eligibility is based on the employee job classification and/or any applicable collective bargaining agreement in effect.
Eligibility
The tuition remission eligibility requirements are determined by Human Resources.
Tuition remission is not available for professional courses: Law, Medicine, Dentistry, or Podiatric Medicine, except for specially designated graduate courses as determined by the Dean’s Offices of the specific professional schools. Tuition remission is limited to undergraduate programs in Pharmacy.
Employees and their eligible dependents receiving tuition remission must remain in good financial standing by paying all balances due on the account for fees that not paid by tuition remission.
Tuition Remission and Scholarships
Students may be eligible for tuition remission and university merit scholarship; however, the combined total of awards can never exceed the tuition amount. Tuition remission eligibility may result in a revision of previously offered financial aid. Student Financial Services details the tuition remission and scholarship eligibility.
Tuition remission students may not also receive a Temple University Grant (TUG). It is possible a student may be awarded a TUG prior to Student Financial Services becoming aware of their tuition remission. In that case, the grant will be removed and tuition remission benefit will be awarded at the eligible rate.
