Parent PLUS Loan Refunds
Refunds are issued to the student. However, if the credit balance is the result of a Parent PLUS loan and the parent checked the option on the loan application to receive the refund rather than the student and provided a valid address on the loan application, then the refund for the Parent PLUS loan will be sent to the parent.
Please note that parents are not always sent the refund from a Parent PLUS loan if the Parent PLUS loan is NOT the payment that caused the credit balance on the student account.
Parents that are Authorized Payers in TUpay may elect to receive the Parent PLUS refund via direct deposit. To sign-up for direct deposit for Parent PLUS refunds, follow the steps below:
- Go to the Temple TUpay site
- Select Authorized Payer
- Login with the login name and password
- Select Manage Refunds
For parents that do not sign-up for direct deposit or are not an Authorized Payer, Parent PLUS refunds will be issued via paper check to the address provided on the FAFSA and there is no action to take.
If a parent wishes to become an Authorized Payer and sign-up for direct deposit, the student must create the parent access.
