529 Plans
Many financial advisors agree that 529 plans are one of the best ways for families to save for college. Many families across the country are finding that using a college savings plan to pay for college makes more sense than ever. All 50 states now offer these college savings plans.
Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program
The Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program offers two college savings programs that can be used to pay for tuition and fees:
- PA 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan
- PA 529 Investment Plan
You will need to send a copy of your statement to the Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program. Select Printable Student Account Statement for instructions to access your statement for submission.
If you are utilizing the PA 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan, the state will send your payment to us electronically. If you are using the PA 529 Investment Plan, the state will need to mail a check to us at our address listed below.
Other 529 College Saving Plans
The specific requirements for establishing and withdrawing from a College Saving Plan vary by state, so please check with your state or visit College Savings for links and information for all the state plans.
Temple University does not request funds from College Savings Plans. To ensure funds arrive in a timely manner, follow all instructions provided by your College Savings Plan.
You should first check with your 529 provider to determine if you can submit your 529 payment electronically. If not, they will need to mail a check to us at our address listed below.

Please request that the student’s full name and 9-digit TUid number be included on the check. Please note that check payments may take up to ten (10) business days after the program approves your request before the funds are issued to and received by Temple University.
You should submit your 529 payment request as soon as you receive the balance due notification from Temple University to ensure timely processing and avoid Payment Plan Fees and Late Payment Fees. If the 529 Plan will only be paying a portion of your balance, make sure you pay the remaining balance by the due date.
